Can I claim on medicare for dental treatment?

We DO accept and bulk bill Veteran’s affairs patients and those children eligible for the Medicare Child Dental Benefits Schedule (CDBS).

The Child Dental Benefit Schedule is an Australian Government initiative that may allow your child to seek basic dental treatment, such as check-ups, x-rays, fillings and extractions. Higher end services, such as orthodontic treatment are not included. The total benefit entitlement will be capped at $1000 per child over a two year period, however eligibility will need to be determined. The CDBS has a means test, which requires receipt of Family Tax Benefit Part A (FTB-A) or a relevant Australian Government payment. For more information, please visit the Medicare website

Otherwise, Medicare does not currently cover dental services by private dentists. There are government dental clinics throughout Brisbane for patients who are eligible for their services, but often with lengthy waiting times for appointments.

We also accept Dental Scheme Vouchers from Queensland Government dental clinics.
