What Is Myobrace?

Myobrace is a system of removable dental appliances that are worn for a few hours each day and overnight while sleeping. Unlike traditional braces that simply move teeth, Myobrace works to correct poor oral habits that cause crooked teeth in the first place.

The treatment is supported by a program of myofunctional exercises that focus on:

Correct tongue position
Breathing through the nose
Proper swallowing technique

Does Myobrace replace the need for braces?

In many cases, yes, especially if treatment starts early. Myobrace can help improve jaw alignment and create space for teeth to erupt naturally. However, in some cases, limited orthodontic treatment may still be needed later, but it is usually shorter and less complex.

What age is best to start Myobrace?

The ideal age to start Myobrace is between 5 and 10 years old, when we can best influence jaw growth and habit correction. That said, Myobrace can still be effective for older children and even teenagers with the right guidance.

How long does Myobrace treatment take?

Treatment length varies depending on your child’s age, compliance, and the severity of their habits or jaw development concerns. On average, it may take 12 to 24 months, with regular check-ups and consistent at-home practice of exercises. Progress is gradual, as we’re working with natural growth patterns for more stable long-term results. That is why the younger we start treatment, the greater the influence on growth we have.
